10Exceptional
The only think I didnt like is our room was right above the front entrance. This is apparently where the smokers congregate. They were very loud talkers. You could hear them from the room late into the night and starting around 5am.

Beds were super comfy

I think I had a basic triple room and it was that, basic. We had no Air conditioning and it was boiling (however it was summer when I stayed there). The beds were really comfortable. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels left neatly folded on the bed each day. The staff were super friendly providing a warm and friendly welcome. They were super helpful too. There isn't much in the area to do and there are limited food placs within a 10 minute walk. The local bus stop and tram were only about a 10 minute walk away. You can use the tram to take you straight to central station. If you walk 5 mintues in the opposite direction from the tram there is a bus direct to the airport. They don't stop outside the hotel, but they are easy enough to get to on foot. I think the tram takes 30 mntues to get into the center of amsterdam. I would allow a good 50 minutes of travel, from stepping foot out of the hotel, to get to amsterdam central. The hotel provides parking, which you have to pay for. There are bikes available for hire. I didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on this. They have snack machines and drink machines but not all of the machines accepted card at the time of my visit. I Can't complain for the price point. Saying this, then room did feel dated. But everywhere was clean and fresh. I would recommend for a budget stay. The hotel also allows you to purchase a travel card if you need one during your visit. Just makes getting around easier.

Pas de panneau sur la façade de l'hôtel on dirait que c'est abandonné. Pas de petit dej. Pas de cafetière. ... Etc
Guests consistently praise the comfortable beds and the friendly, helpful staff at Westlake Hotels Amsterdam. However, many reviews highlight issues with noise from outside, particularly from smokers congregating near the entrance, as well as the lack of air conditioning in some rooms. Additionally, some guests note that the hotel feels dated and that the surrounding area offers limited dining options.

Who Should Stay Here?

Budget-conscious travelers and those seeking a peaceful retreat from the city will find value at Westlake Hotels Amsterdam. The friendly staff adds a personal touch to the experience, making check-in smooth and inquiries feel genuine. With comfortable beds and fast, free Wi-Fi, it serves as a solid base for exploring Amsterdam without breaking the bank. This hotel works well for anyone prioritizing rest over luxury, especially if you're okay with venturing out for meals. On the other hand, guests who expect extensive amenities or a central location should look elsewhere. The absence of breakfast can be frustrating for early risers, and the distance from major attractions may not suit those wanting quick access to the city's vibrancy. If you prioritize cleanliness and a fully equipped hotel experience, the Westlake may leave you wanting more.

The Verdict

Our Take

Westlake Hotels Amsterdam offers a solid stay with friendly staff and comfortable rooms in a quiet neighborhood, making it a good choice for those seeking peace after a day of sightseeing. The fast, free Wi-Fi is a nice touch, but the absence of breakfast and reported cleanliness issues are significant drawbacks. If you prioritize a personal touch and a restful environment, this hotel is worth considering. However, if you need amenities and a guaranteed level of cleanliness, you might want to explore other options.
