Overview

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa offers a refreshing alternative to the usual Las Vegas scene. Located 17 miles from the Strip, this boutique resort features Mediterranean-inspired architecture that sets a tranquil tone. Travelers seeking relaxation and dining options will find plenty to enjoy at the Medici Café and Terrace. This four-star hotel attracts those looking for a serene getaway without sacrificing access to the city's excitement.

Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is serene, situated by Lake Las Vegas, which provides a calm atmosphere away from the hectic Strip. You can enjoy morning coffee on your balcony with a picturesque view of the water and village.
  • The staff's friendliness genuinely enhances your stay. Jeremy at the front desk stands out for providing clear directions and making check-in smooth, which can set a positive tone for your trip.
  • Rooms are spacious and clean, allowing for a comfortable stay. After a long day, it's nice to return to a room where you can stretch out and relax without feeling cramped.
  • Breakfast is delicious and offers a solid start to the day. The variety of options means you can fuel up before heading out to explore or start meetings.
  • The hotel is well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. The decor, especially during the holidays, adds to the overall charm and makes you feel like you're getting a little more than just a standard hotel experience.
  • The nearby village has more affordable dining options, which is a bonus if you want a break from higher-priced hotel fare. You can easily stroll over and find something tasty without straying too far.
  • The property features a lovely bar and firepit area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The inviting atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy the evening.
What doesn't
  • A persistent sewage smell detracts from the overall experience. This can be especially off-putting when you're trying to enjoy the outdoor areas or walk through the hotel.
  • Cold showers are a frustrating inconvenience. After a long day, you expect to be able to enjoy a warm shower, and this can really put a damper on your relaxation.
  • Plumbing issues seem to be common, which can lead to unexpected disruptions during your stay. When you're paying for a nice hotel, you shouldn't have to deal with maintenance problems.
  • Many businesses nearby are closed, limiting your options for dining or entertainment outside of the hotel. This can make the location feel isolating if you're looking for variety and local flavor.
  • The long walk from parking to the rooms can be tiring, especially after a long day. If you're not aware of the layout, it’s easy to get lost, which can add unnecessary stress to your stay.

Gorgeous Facility, Views with great service!

Beautiful facility! Very relaxing between charming bar with great service (thanks Guy!), firepit in the evening and coffee on our balcony overlooking the lake and village each morning! Jeremy greeted us and got us settled in and setup for a great stay!

Great location , nice rooms

The property was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff was friendly and helpful. The King suite was spacious and clean.
The sewage smell throughout the property. Wish they piped in a good smelling scent like the Westin Hotel chain does. It unfortunately needs it! I’m not sure if it’s the lake that the property sits in or that it’s an older property. I would have given it a 10 if it weren’t for the smell.

Property smells

Scored a great price from a 3rd party website. Arrived on a Tuesday. The Hilton was a ghost town. Barely ran into another customer. Turns out, one of the few other customers was next door and came in early morning and talked so loud they woke us up every day about 4am. The entire property smelled like septic. We made the most of our stay but next time will choose another property.
Guests consistently praise the beautiful facility, great views, and friendly staff at Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. However, a recurring complaint is the unpleasant sewage smell reported throughout the property, which detracts from the overall experience for many visitors.

Who Should Stay Here?

This hotel works well for those seeking a quiet retreat away from the Las Vegas Strip. If you crave a serene atmosphere and enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Las Vegas, you will appreciate the picturesque views and spacious rooms. The friendly staff, particularly at check-in, adds a personal touch that enhances your stay. Those who value a solid breakfast to kickstart their day will find this hotel meets their needs before venturing out into the city. However, if you rely on a reliable shower or plumbing during your stay, this hotel might not be for you. The persistent sewage smell and plumbing issues can be a significant distraction, detracting from the overall experience. Additionally, if you're interested in a vibrant dining and entertainment scene, the lack of nearby businesses may leave you feeling isolated. Travelers looking for a lively Vegas experience should explore other options closer to the action.

The Verdict

Our Take

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa offers a tranquil escape from the chaos of the Strip, with spacious rooms and a friendly staff that enhances the experience. However, persistent plumbing issues and an unpleasant sewage smell significantly detract from the charm. If you value a serene atmosphere and can overlook the maintenance problems, this hotel might be worth considering. Otherwise, you may want to seek accommodation with a more reliable standard.
