Pros & Cons

What works
  • The shuttle service to JFK runs regularly, which is a huge relief if you have an early or late flight. You can save on taxi fares and avoid the stress of navigating public transport.
  • Many guests found the staff friendly and welcoming, creating a more pleasant atmosphere during your stay. A warm greeting can make a long travel day feel a little less exhausting.
  • The hotel is close to several restaurants and shops, so you won’t have to wander far for a meal or essentials. This convenience can make a big difference when you're tired from travel.
  • Rooms are generally clean and well-presented, providing a comfortable place to rest between travels. After a long day, a clean room can be a comforting haven.
  • The beds are reported to be comfortable, which is crucial for getting a good night's sleep before or after a flight. Quality sleep can set the tone for your entire trip.
  • The cozy atmosphere is appreciated by some guests, making it a decent spot to unwind after the chaos of travel. A little comfort can go a long way when you're away from home.
What doesn't
  • Cleanliness issues have been reported, such as hair in the bath, which can leave you feeling uneasy about your accommodations. Basic hygiene should never be compromised, especially in a hotel.
  • The rooms feel dated, with outdated decor and some maintenance issues like broken bathroom fixtures. This can detract from your overall comfort and enjoyment during your stay.
  • Breakfast options are very limited, often lacking basic offerings like eggs. If you rely on breakfast to fuel your day, this could be a significant downside.
  • Some front desk staff have been noted as unfriendly, which can affect your first impression of the hotel. A lack of warmth from the staff can make a stressful travel experience feel worse.
  • There's no onsite restaurant, despite what some booking sites claim, which means you may need to rely on nearby eateries. This can be a hassle if you're hoping for the convenience of dining in.
  • The shuttle wait times can be long, with reports of 45-minute waits, which can be frustrating after a long journey. Missing your flight because of shuttle delays is a traveler's nightmare.

9Exceptional

Close to the airport with free shuttle back and forth.

The shuttle they have, which is great for people who want to stay for transit travel, was amazing.
The space for the breakfast was limited and seemed to be in the lobby.

6Good

hotel is ok for a stop over from/to airport but shuttle bus does not do what it says it does

it is clean and the size of the room is correct. Coffe and tea and water are available in the common area
There is no water, coffe or tea in the room. They provide shuttle from the airport but: in the description it is said that they come to the terminal ( or bring you to the terminal) infact it is not like this; you have to take the air train from JFK airport to Federal Circle on both way. If you travel with a big luggage is very unconvenient.

5Average

Only good to stay to catchup ur next flight, nothing more

Location close to JFK
Breakfast is not good No full blinds in the rooms to cover windows! So u cant sleep morning Small room very old not renovated for many years
Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the convenience of the free shuttle service to JFK Airport. However, complaints often center around the limited breakfast area, small room sizes, and discrepancies regarding the shuttle's operation, particularly in relation to luggage handling.

Who Should Stay Here?

Budget travelers and those flying in or out of JFK Airport will find good value at Five Towns Inn. The reliable shuttle service to the airport removes the hassle of transportation, particularly during odd hours. Friendly staff and a clean, if dated, room provide a decent rest stop for weary travelers. Proximity to restaurants and shops adds convenience, making it easier to grab a quick bite or any necessities after a long journey. However, if cleanliness is a top priority, you might want to look elsewhere. Reports of hair in bathrooms and a generally dated atmosphere can be off-putting. Additionally, those who enjoy a hearty breakfast should prepare for disappointment, as options are limited. If you seek a more modern or upscale experience, consider hotels with better upkeep and amenities.

The Verdict

Our Take

Five Towns Inn offers reliable shuttle service to JFK, friendly staff, and convenient access to local dining options. However, cleanliness issues and dated rooms limit its appeal. If you need a no-frills place to crash between flights, it fits the bill. Just don't expect a gourmet breakfast or modern decor.
