Pros & Cons

What works
  • The beds are comfortable, allowing for a restful sleep after a long travel day. You'll appreciate sinking into plush bedding when fatigue hits you post-flight.
  • The staff are friendly and genuinely helpful, making your check-in and any inquiries feel personal. Their attentiveness can make a stressful travel day significantly easier.
  • This hotel is conveniently located near LAX, making it a quick shuttle ride away from the terminal. You can save valuable time during your travels without worrying about long commutes.
  • Despite being close to the airport, the rooms are surprisingly quiet, providing a peaceful environment to unwind. You'll be able to relax without the typical airport noise disturbing your stay.
  • The rooms are spacious, giving you ample room to spread out your luggage and relax. This extra space can be a lifesaver if you are traveling with family or a lot of gear.
What doesn't
  • Parking fees are steep at around $40 per night, which can add a significant amount to your travel budget. This can be particularly frustrating if you're already spending on flights and hotel stays.
  • Food options are limited on-site, which can be inconvenient if you arrive late or need a meal quickly. You may find yourself venturing out for meals, which can be undesirable after a long day.
  • Some rooms show signs of aging, which can detract from the overall experience. You might find outdated decor or fixtures that don't meet your expectations for a modern hotel.
  • Cleanliness has been an issue for some guests, which can be off-putting when you're looking for a fresh and welcoming space. You expect a certain standard when staying at a hotel, and this can affect your comfort.
  • The hotel charges extra for Wi-Fi, which feels outdated in today's travel landscape. Paying $15 just to connect your devices can be frustrating, especially at an airport location where you might need access.

Location

The Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel occupies a prime spot just off Airport Boulevard, making it a convenient choice for travelers flying in and out of LAX. The immediate area feels more like a business district than a vibrant neighborhood, with a mix of hotels and corporate offices. While the hotel itself doesn't offer much in terms of local charm, it serves as a solid base for those who need quick access to the airport and nearby attractions. Within a short drive, you can reach the bustling streets of El Segundo, where you can find a range of dining options, from casual eateries to upscale restaurants. Manhattan Beach is about a 15-minute drive away, offering a beautiful shoreline and a local vibe. For travelers looking to explore further, the hotel is approximately 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and the iconic sights of Hollywood. This location caters primarily to business travelers and those on layovers, but it also provides easy access to some of the best that Los Angeles has to offer.

The building layout is different from standard hotels it has a great atmosphere. Our room was well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. The food in the restaurant icon was very good too and well priced.

Who Should Stay Here?

Frequent travelers and those with early flights will find great value at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel. The comfortable beds guarantee a restful night, especially after long journeys. The friendly staff adds a personal touch that can ease travel stress, making it a haven for those needing a quick, convenient stay by LAX. The surprisingly quiet rooms provide a much-needed reprieve from the usual airport chaos, allowing guests to recharge before their next adventure. However, if you prefer a hotel with diverse dining options or value modern decor, this might not be the right choice. The steep parking fees can significantly increase your expenses, which may deter budget-conscious travelers. Guests expecting impeccable cleanliness may also be disappointed, as some reports indicate that maintenance has lagged. If you're looking for a pristine environment or more dining flexibility, consider other options.
