Overview

This four-star property attracts families and couples alike, thanks to its private beach access and multiple pools. Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is a stone's throw from the beach, which means you can easily swap your hotel robe for a swimsuit and hit the sand without wasting time on transport.
  • Staff members, particularly at the beach and concierge, are attentive and genuinely want to help. This can make your stay feel personal and less like just another transaction.
  • The gym is well-equipped with various machines and free weights, so you can keep up your workout routine even while on vacation.
  • The rooms are spacious, providing enough room for families or groups to spread out comfortably. This extra space can make a big difference when you're all trying to relax after a long day.
  • The pool area is inviting and warm, making it a great spot to unwind and soak up the sun without heading to the beach.
What doesn't
  • Cleanliness is a significant issue, with reports of dusty rooms and unkempt common areas. This can detract from the overall experience, especially when you expect a hotel to meet basic hygiene standards.
  • Several guests have encountered room quality problems, such as malfunctioning air conditioning and leaks. Dealing with maintenance issues can disrupt your vacation vibe and lead to frustration.
  • Prices can be steep, and when you combine that with the quality issues, it feels like you're not getting your money's worth. You might end up regretting your choice when comparable options are available for less.
  • Service inconsistencies mean you can't always rely on staff to address issues promptly. When you need help or a solution, the lack of responsiveness can leave you feeling neglected.

10Exceptional

Fantastic hotel. One of the best ones in Miami.

Such a wonderful experience. One of the best hotels I have been at in Miami. Wonderful hotel, and facilities. Great gym is occupied with all the necessary equipment and more. Close to the beach. Great place to come with family and friends. The rooms are very spacey and big. The place is very clean. Love it. Would definitely go there again. Highly recommended..

Q: Would you stay here again? A: Absolutly!

My husband and I are due to stay at the Gand Beach Hotel for one night pre cruise later this week.. as we have done 6 or 7 times over the years since the hotel opened, including this 2 night stay last December. It reminded me that I had forgotten to write a review… till now! The hotel uniquely offers spacious suites a price point other hotels offer a basic room, so for us it’s a no brainer to stay here when we can. This time it was lovely to experience a recently refurbished room which highlights the property is as well looked after as its guests. The choice of pool areas (main & adult only rooftop) is great, but for us it’s the padded loungers, umbrellas and service on the beach that make the resort fee value for money. We also enjoyed some delicious food in the on-site restaurant and don’t miss the deli, for sandwiches, ice cream, tempting pastries and coffee. We found all of the staff team to be welcoming and friendly and a special shout out to Maria who manages the front desk and who ensured we were very well looked after during this stay. I can’t think of a better recommendation, than to say: we are very much looking forward to yet another stay at The Grand Beach in a few days time!

6Good

Good for a short stay, but could use an update and surrounding area is not bery walkable.

Rooms were big and very clean, but outdated.
The rooms were very outdated despite claiming recent renovations. The crib we requested for our baby was in pretty bad condition, even just new paint would had done wonders. We also didn’t get the room we booked on booking and they said they were at capacity.

If the hostels are booked then ok

Check in was upsetting as rooms were not ready at 530 after a long day of travel. Elevator wait is 5-7 min Hot tubs are mainly down (1 was working) This is by no means luxury. You are staying here for location. Check out bathrooms lol. When I questioned the “extras on final bill” I was told oh it’s charges that don’t come up on bill but were for your stay.

Room looks good, but is a disaster

The pool and beach areas are nice, BUT the room was an absolute disaster!!!! Upon arrival the AC was completely off and the toilet didn’t flush. Maintenance came and temporarily fixed the AC, returned the next day after dinner, no AC again! Then my daughter says what is that dripping noise, well….the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water all over. Had maintenance in our room again for over 30 minutes trying to fix. There were no calls to offer to switch rooms. I spoke with the manager in the morning after we left very early and asked, at a minimum we should be refunded last nights stay!!!!! He said please send the pictures and I will get back to you. It has been a week later and of course NO response!!!!!
Guests consistently praise the Grand Beach Hotel for its spacious rooms, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The beach access and pool areas, particularly the adult-only rooftop pool, receive acclaim as well. However, complaints about outdated rooms and maintenance issues are frequent, with several guests noting problems with air conditioning, bathroom fixtures, and unexpected charges on their bills.

Who Should Stay Here?

Families and groups will find value at the Grand Beach Hotel due to the spacious rooms and attentive staff. The prime location near the beach allows for quick access to sun and sand, making it easy to enjoy Miami's coastal charm. Those who prioritize a well-equipped gym will also appreciate the fitness facilities. If you want a somewhat personalized experience with a focus on relaxation, this hotel delivers that atmosphere. On the flip side, solo travelers or couples seeking a seamless getaway might want to consider other options. The cleanliness issues and inconsistent service can overshadow the hotel's advantages. If you expect a high standard of maintenance and responsiveness, you may find the Grand Beach Hotel frustrating. Travelers on a budget should also look elsewhere, as the pricing does not align with the quality of the experience.

The Verdict

Our Take

The Grand Beach Hotel offers a prime location near the beach and attentive staff who elevate the service experience. Spacious rooms and a well-equipped gym are definite perks, making it appealing for families and fitness enthusiasts. However, significant cleanliness issues and inconsistent room quality can overshadow these positives. Given the high prices and available alternatives, I recommend considering other options unless you're willing to overlook the drawbacks.
