Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location near the Eiffel Tower allows for easy access to iconic sights and charming neighborhoods, making it convenient for both sightseeing and leisurely strolls.
  • The staff's friendliness and attentiveness create a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another room number.
  • Rooms are clean and comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, which is crucial after long days exploring Paris.
  • The hotel’s dining options, especially at Matsuhisa Paris, offer an exceptional culinary experience, with beautifully presented dishes that delight the palate and enhance your stay.
  • The outstanding concierge service can help you secure reservations at sought-after restaurants, taking the stress out of planning your dining experience.
  • The stylish décor throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the rooms, adds a luxurious touch that enhances the overall experience.
  • The thoughtful welcome arrangements, such as personalized notes and birthday surprises, create memorable moments that set this hotel apart from others.
What doesn't
  • Breakfast variety is lacking, which can be disappointing for those who enjoy a broader selection to start their day, especially in a city known for its culinary delights.
  • Incidental charge issues can cause confusion at checkout, leading to frustration when trying to settle your bill and potentially undermining an otherwise great experience.
  • The pool area can feel overcrowded, which detracts from the relaxing retreat one might expect in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Housekeeping inconsistencies mean you might not receive full service every day, requiring extra requests that disrupt your routine and enjoyment of the stay.

Feeling good about it after all

Raffles Royal Monceau Paris, located near Charles de Gaulle Étoile, Champs-Élysée, Monceau Park, and the charming Ternes neighbourhood, had been our Paris go-to-place for quite some time. Our previous experience on Easter 2025 had not been great due to technical malfunctions and cleanliness issues inside our room. Mélinée from Guest Relations made sure of a complimentary night at a Suite category to make up for previous shortcomings, which we redeemed during this recent stay, alongside a booking of three additional nights. Throughout our stay, she and her colleague Léa did simply everything to enhance our experience. Pre-communication with the Concierge team had been pretty complicated though, for a simple restaurant reservation their answer took five days. The welcome was friendly, even though the door did not convince to the fullest, as it often remained unattended and we were rarely noticed when leaving or entering the hotel. The receptionist did a good job and Mélinée arrived swiftly to greet us in the most friendly manner. The room was not ready yet at the time, a situation that could have been used to offer us a seat or a drink - both did not happen. Even though the far too small reception area was very crowded when we came back for check-in, a very friendly member of the butler team was able to show us our room, a lovely Suite in breathtaking design. A very nice welcome arrangement was presented to us including an amazing birthday cake and a Moet Vintage Champagne. Even though the amazing room decoration including wooden aspects as well as the signature mirror-light bathroom arrangement, the extremely comfortable bed and the relaxing courtyard view convinced us to the fullest, the technical state of the room was not in order: The bathroom door could hardly be closed, the bath tub would not fill up within less than an hour, and the air-conditioning in the bedroom did not work properly. Furthermore, both washlets either did not work at all or only partially. The Suite was not in a state that was suitable for being handed out to guests. Due to these shortcomings, Mélinée and Léa made sure of an even more generous upgrade after our first night, and we were accommodated in one of the hotel's most prestigious Suites, where we were spoiled with amazing bouquets, daily pastries, occasional House Champagne (which could be of higher standard), and excellent fruit. In this Suite, equipped with two balconies, the technical setup was in far better shape, even though the bath tub seemed to be leaking a little. The shower and Clarins bathroom amenities were extremely pleasant. In general cleanliness was good and once more, sofas, bed and design must be applauded. Our contact with the butler team was always friendly and most of the time efficient, with some wishes not fully delivered. Unfortunately, the housekeeping did not always deliver a full service, which resulted in extra requests from our side. The breakfast was of world-class quality with the exceptional Yazid Ichemrahen pastries, excellent bakery, outstanding cheese, juicy fruit, nice orange juice, and egg dishes of perfection. The team was delightful and let us forget the less than mediocre quality of coffee. The pool area appeared crowded and not very relaxed. After all, it is the feeling that counts, and the bouquet of 18 red roses combined with a hand-written card with the most lovely lines on Valentine's Day was one of the instances that simply made us feel welcome, almost loved. And yes, we received hand-written and very personal cards on more than a daily basis. Finally, it is especially Mélinée who made us feel extremely special during our stay, she is the one person every hospitality employer should be yearning for. This does not mean that many other team members did not excell as well, she simply stood out (again). Our check-out was smooth and even a Goodbye chocolate surprise had been prepared. In the end we left with a feeling of wanting to return, thank you again for everyone involved in making our stay special! And a huge THANK YOU again to Mélinée, the Raffles Royal Monceau would not be the same without you!

The Royal Monceau is a bright star among the luxury hotels of Paris. They made our stay memorable.

The staff is wonderfully helpful, engaged and polite. The food superior. The room outstanding. The location central. The hotel is luxurious. The hotel went so far beyond anticipated to make our stay a pleasure and memorable. We have stayed in great hotels and without any hesitation happy to say this is one of them.
A public sitting area independent from bar or restaurant where you can chat or read.

Exceptional Parisian Palace Hotel!

Le royal Monceau was Glorious! The bed, bathroom, food and service were all incredible. The location is perfect for exploring Paris , and you are near the Charles de Gaulle Etoille metro line which is very nice to have nearby. The food in both the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, bar and in room dining was amazing and I highly recommend dining at Matsuhisa. The desserts are also amazing especially the frozen brioche with bitter almond cream. The in room dining mango I ordered was beautifully presented. I would highly suggest a courtyard facing room, as it will be very quiet and still afford sunlight. The hotel’s bathtubs are divine and the clarins toiletries smell heavenly. Room #511 is lovely and spacious. The service from housekeeping was fantastic and the ladies kept my room over my 4-night stay impeccably clean. The slippers left at turndown are so soft and cozy. The hotels staircase is stunning and I loved walking down it each day. The lobby is very calm and quiet and very contemporary in its decor. Special mention to the hotels reservations team for being so efficient and friendly, especially Jariya, Camille, and Julia. They also respond to emails very swiftly. The front desk reception, concierge and butler team is wonderfully kind, and special mention to Gaëtan, Xavier, Melinee, Antoine, Fabio, Rose, Adrian, Florian, Lea, and Elise- all hospitality super-stars and each took wondef care of me and were so lovely. The doormen were all excellent. Special thanks to the food and beverage team, especially Mareva, Jesus and Attina in le bar long and Anna and Erik in Matsuhisa- you all made me feel so comfortable, provided exceptional hospitality and palace level service. Merci!!! I very much look forward to returning very soon. Merci et À bientôt team RMO Paris! Thank you always! Best Wishes, Patrick Winkler New York, NY

Excellent location, close to everything Good-sized and comfortable Executive room Stylish and attractive décor Outstanding concierge service, especially with restaurant bookings Very cool and modern bar with a great Champagne selection
Guests consistently praise the attentive and friendly staff, with particular mentions of individual team members who enhance the overall experience. The quality of food, especially breakfast and in-room dining, receives high marks as well. However, many reviews highlight ongoing issues with room maintenance and technical problems, alongside a desire for more public sitting areas to relax away from the bar or restaurant.

Who Should Stay Here?

This hotel serves couples and luxury travelers who prioritize location and service. Being close to the Eiffel Tower, it offers easy access to iconic attractions and charming Parisian streets. The attentive staff enhances the experience, making guests feel valued. For food lovers, the dining at Matsuhisa Paris provides an exquisite culinary journey that elevates the overall stay. Families or budget-conscious travelers might want to explore other options. The breakfast selection is limited, which can disappoint those seeking a hearty start to their day. The pool area often feels crowded, detracting from the serene luxury some expect. Additionally, inconsistencies in housekeeping could disrupt the experience, making it less ideal for those who seek seamless service.

The Verdict

Our Take

Hôtel Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris delivers luxury with its prime location and attentive staff. The rooms provide comfort, and the dining experience, particularly at Matsuhisa Paris, impresses. However, the limited breakfast selection and occasional pool overcrowding detract from the experience. If you prioritize a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional dining, this hotel is a solid choice, but be prepared for minor inconveniences.
