Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is a gem, just steps from Metro St Lazare, which opens up all of Paris to you. You can easily hop on a train and explore or stroll to nearby shopping like Printemps and Galeries Lafayette.
  • The staff is genuinely friendly and eager to help, which makes your stay feel more personal. They can provide recommendations or assistance with any hiccups during your trip.
  • Free snacks add a nice touch, especially for those late-night cravings after a long day of sightseeing. It's a simple perk that can make a difference, particularly for families or budget travelers.
  • The kitchenette is well-equipped, allowing you to prepare simple meals or snacks. This is a bonus for those who prefer a home-cooked meal or want to save on dining out.
  • Large windows flood the room with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere. This brightens up the space and makes it feel more open, which is a welcome feature in a bustling city like Paris.
  • Rooms are designed with a cozy Parisian style that can make you feel like you are truly part of the city. The decor adds to the charm and enhances your overall experience.
  • The ample storage space for luggage and personal items allows you to keep things organized, which is especially helpful for longer stays.
What doesn't
  • Cleanliness could use serious attention, with issues like hair on the bathroom floor and unemptied trash being major red flags. Arriving to a less-than-spotless room can diminish that initial excitement of being in Paris.
  • Dated room amenities like an ineffective fridge and noisy sofa bed can disrupt your comfort. When you're paying for a hotel, you expect everything to work properly and contribute to a restful stay.
  • The bathroom had a persistent drainage smell that could be quite unpleasant, particularly if you’re sensitive to odors. This can detract from the overall experience, making it hard to fully relax.
  • Certain promised amenities, like complimentary soft drinks, were notably absent, which can lead to disappointment. It's frustrating when expectations set by advertising don't match reality.
  • Noise from the hallways and outside can occasionally disrupt your peace, especially if you're trying to wind down after a day of sightseeing. A good night’s sleep is crucial, and inconsistency can be a letdown.

Fantastic Location, Easily Accessible, Cleanliness Needs Improving.

Location was very central and super easy to get to the metro/all the best shops. The aparthotel was in a side road right by Metro St Lazare, Printemps dept store and Galleries lafayette. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. There were free snacks that were provided which were enjoyable. The room was decorated in a Parisien style and was cozy with modern fixtures such as aircon and CD players. Kitchenette was well equipped for basic catering with a hob and microwave, etc. Lots of space to store luggage or coats with wardrobes. Large windows allowing plenty of light. Bedside charging area and reading lights, and well layed-out for a slightly limited space. Monoprix is a stone-throw away, ideal for grocery shopping. Overall, a pleasant stay and would book again. Would recommend to anyone who likes the central city life!
The cleanliness was not particularly up to standard. The cleaning staff could have been more attentive with certain things, eg: the bathroom floor was covered in hair and the sink seemed a bit dirty upon arrival. The bin had not been emptied with the previous person's rubbish inside. Mid-stay, the maid appeared to have forgotten to finish making the bed, as the pillows were scattered. The fridge was also not very cold. The sofa bed was hard and noisy, with the metal bar beneath making a clanging sound. Asked for a mattress topper and did not recieve one. The complimentary soft drinks that were promised/advertised were not present during our stay. There was also a TV but no remote. The sofa was dusty - because it was navy, it made the dust extra visible. Bathroom lacks shelving making it awkward for families with lots of toiletries. These are only minor details however easily noticeable. The drainage smell in the bathroom was unpleasant, particularly after several hours of not being used, but may just be a central Paris issue. Majority of the stay was quiet but there were a few noises heard, such as in the hallways and outside. The only major concern was the cleaning, other than that, you can't really fault the rooms!

Not recommended

The location only
Service, cleaning, non confortoble
Guests consistently praise the location of Residhome Paris Opéra, highlighting its central access to metro stations and local attractions. However, complaints arise frequently regarding cleanliness and maintenance issues, particularly in the bathrooms and with bedding comfort. Service also appears to be a concern for some visitors, impacting their overall experience.

Who Should Stay Here?

Families and budget travelers will find the most value at Residhome Paris Opéra. The location near Metro St Lazare makes it easy to explore the city without breaking the bank. With a kitchenette available, you can prepare meals and save on dining costs. Free snacks add a nice touch, perfect for late-night cravings after a day of sightseeing. The friendly staff is also a bonus, always eager to assist and provide recommendations. However, those who prioritize cleanliness and modern amenities should consider other options. Issues like hair on the bathroom floor and lingering odors can be off-putting. If you expect everything in your hotel room to work properly, the dated amenities and ineffective fridge might frustrate you. For a stress-free stay in Paris, look elsewhere if these aspects are non-negotiable.

The Verdict

Our Take

Residhome Paris Opéra is a mixed bag. The prime location near Metro St Lazare and the friendly staff are strong selling points, and the kitchenette and free snacks can add convenience for families or budget-conscious travelers. However, cleanliness issues, dated amenities, and unpleasant odors in the bathroom can significantly detract from your stay. If you prioritize location and service over comfort and cleanliness, this hotel may work for you, but be prepared to overlook some significant shortcomings.
