Overview

Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is convenient for exploring Rome, allowing you to walk to key historical sites and shopping streets in about 20 minutes, which means you can soak in the local atmosphere without relying on public transport.
  • The breakfast selection is impressive, featuring freshly made pastries and a variety of options that can set a positive tone for your day of sightseeing.
  • The staff is notably friendly and responsive, which makes for a more pleasant experience when you have questions or need assistance during your stay.
  • Some rooms feature lovely deep bathtubs, providing a nice spot to unwind after a long day of walking around the city.
  • The hotel design gives off an elegant vibe, making you feel like you are staying in a small luxury hotel rather than just another chain.
What doesn't
  • There are cleanliness issues reported, which can lead to discomfort when you expect a certain standard of hygiene in a four-star hotel.
  • Room quality is inconsistent; some guests have found their accommodations dated or not as advertised, which can be disappointing when you have high expectations.
  • The spa facilities are misleadingly marketed; guests have expressed frustration over the high cost for limited amenities, such as a small plunge pool and a non-functioning sauna.
  • Soundproofing is poor, making it difficult to escape noise from neighboring rooms or from the hallway, which can disrupt your sleep or relaxation.
  • Guests have reported issues with the bathroom fixtures, such as leaking sinks, which can detract from the overall experience if maintenance is slow to respond.

We booked this hotel because it advertised a swimming pool. There is NO swimming pool.It costs 75 euro to use spa for 2 hours,it has a plunge pool, and a steam room.sauna wasn't working and no Turkish bath as advertised. It was also not heated properly, we were freezing walking around in our swimsuit.also shower ran cold very quickly. Extortionate price for what is offered

The room was very cold when we arrived and it took long to warm up
Guests consistently praise the Romanico Palace Luxury Hotel & SPA for its excellent location, friendly staff, and overall value. However, complaints often center around the lack of amenities such as a swimming pool and issues with room temperature and mini bar options.

Who Should Stay Here?

This hotel serves two main types of travelers well. First, those who prioritize location will find value here, as the Romanico Palace allows for easy access to Rome's historical sites and shopping, all within a pleasant walking distance. The attentive staff and substantial breakfast provide a warm start to long days of exploration. Couples looking for a romantic touch can enjoy the deep bathtubs in select rooms, making it easier to unwind after a day in the city. On the other hand, those who have high standards for cleanliness or expect consistent room quality might want to seek alternatives. Reports of cleanliness issues and dated accommodations suggest that this hotel does not meet the expectations typical for a four-star property. Additionally, if you are seeking a spa experience, the limited amenities and high costs may not justify a visit. Soundproofing problems can also hinder a restful night, making this hotel less suitable for light sleepers.

The Verdict

Our Take

The Romanico Palace Luxury Hotel & SPA offers a great location and a standout breakfast, along with friendly staff who enhance your stay. However, cleanliness issues and inconsistent room quality cannot be overlooked in a four-star establishment. If you prioritize location and service over the condition of your room and spa amenities, this hotel might still suit your needs. For a more reliable experience, consider other options in Rome.
