Pros & Cons

What works
  • The rooms are spacious, giving you plenty of room to spread out and truly relax after a long day of exploring Amsterdam.
  • The beds are comfortable, which is crucial after walking the city’s cobblestone streets all day; a good night's sleep is guaranteed.
  • Breakfast is a highlight here, with a decent buffet offering a mix of options that fuel you for your day of sightseeing.
  • Staff members are friendly and eager to help, making you feel welcomed and supported throughout your stay.
  • The rooms are equipped with useful amenities like a Nespresso machine and an ice cube maker, adding a touch of convenience for your mornings.
What doesn't
  • Cleanliness can be hit or miss; several guests reported issues with dirty rooms and unkempt bathrooms, which can be off-putting.
  • The noise from construction may disrupt your stay, especially during working hours, making it hard to relax or work in your room.
  • High parking fees at 25€ per day can add up quickly, especially if you plan to explore the city and need your car for longer.
  • The location is not the best; it feels isolated, and accessing public transport can be tricky, especially in Amsterdam's unpredictable weather.
  • Some guests found the check-in process lacking, with limited support for non-English speakers, potentially causing stress upon arrival.

Helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms. well equipped rooms: nespresso coffie machine, iron in the room, icecube maker in the corridor. Great buffet, good restaurant.
The restaurant was closed on Saturday evening, which is a pity, since we wanted to eat there again, after a super dinner the evening before.

8Excellent

Great hotel out of the city, but with good links to Centraal Station.

It was a comfortable room. We had a twin room which was only because we booked last minute and was all that was available at our budget, but it was really nice. We had dinner one night in the hotel and it was really tasty. It's quite a way out of the city, but the number 2 tram stop is close by and a really scenic ride.
I think the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. I think breakfast was very overpriced, but there is a Spar just a minute away and you can get hot, fresh snacks in there for far less.

Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, along with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. However, common complaints include the restaurant being closed on certain evenings and issues with room cleanliness or outdated facilities.

Who Should Stay Here?

Hotel Artemis Amsterdam suits travelers who prioritize comfort and space. If you plan to spend days exploring the city and need a reliable base, the spacious rooms and comfortable beds provide the necessary relaxation. The friendly staff and a hearty breakfast are added bonuses that enhance your stay, making it a viable option for families and groups seeking a bit more room to breathe. Conversely, if you are looking for a central location, this hotel might disappoint. The isolation and transportation challenges could hinder your experience in Amsterdam, particularly if you want to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. Budget-conscious travelers should also consider alternatives, as the high parking fees can be a significant drawback for those relying on a vehicle.
