Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is close to downtown Nashville, making it easy to explore local attractions like the Country Music Hall of Fame and vibrant nightlife without spending a fortune on transportation.
  • Some staff members display friendliness that offers a glimmer of warmth amid the chaos, which can make check-in and interactions feel more welcoming.
  • The price point is low compared to other nearby hotels, which can be a relief for budget-conscious travelers who want to stay in Nashville without breaking the bank.
  • They allow pets, which is a plus for travelers who don't want to leave their furry friends behind. Just be aware that the cleanliness might not meet your expectations.
  • The beds have been described as comfortable, providing a decent place to crash after a long day of exploring, even if the rest of the room doesn't live up to the same standard.
What doesn't
  • Multiple guests reported issues with cleanliness throughout the property, including dirty floors and an overwhelming smell of smoke, which can make your stay feel uncomfortable and uninviting.
  • Reports of bedbugs are alarming and can ruin your trip. Nobody wants to deal with pests in their accommodations, especially when trying to relax.
  • Maintenance issues are rampant, from outdated bathrooms to furniture in disrepair. Such neglect can leave you feeling like you are staying in a rundown space rather than a hotel.
  • The management has received complaints for rudeness, which can sour your experience, especially if you encounter issues that need addressing during your stay.
  • Many guests noted a lack of basic amenities, like breakfast and adequate electrical outlets. This can be frustrating, especially for travelers who rely on these conveniences.

It served the purpose but need to update.

Clean and staff was great
There was young black guys smoking weed outside our door so it smelled horrible. I did call front desk and they would leave but would return. Smoke weed all day and night.

I will NEVER EVER go to a Red Roof ever again!

There is nothing to like at this property. The whole place is beyond filthy and I have pictures. It reeks of cat urine, crack, weed and cigarettes. I wouldn’t put stray dogs in this place. I desperately needed sleep and I slept in my clothes and laid down towels because it felt so filthy. I left three hours after I checked in and didn’t return and went to another hotel. Take them off your site! This place isn’t fit for humans and at that rate you must be joking! Vile!
Absolutely EVERYTHING! The staff is kind enough they don’t even deserve to work in such filthy conditions!

I wouldn't recommend coming here because the manager is prejudice towards black people and hateful😠

Well when I first got there a couple of nights were good and the woman that works morning shift is very sweet and kind and loving I really enjoyed talking to her and the woman on night shift she was very kind and sweet and I enjoyed talking to her as well.
Well I didn't like the fact that one of the employees I don't know if he was a manager but he started off very nice and is we stayed there more he became rude mean and disrespectful and very hateful towards me and towards one of my friends well my daughters godfather came in on Sunday night and was trying to help me pay for the room he paid for three nights but I have stayed there for almost 2 weeks and haven't had a problem or issue and he wanted to charge me $100 deposit because he said I left the room dirty which was not true because I would speak and talk to housekeeping every other day and she even told me thank you for cleaning your room so I know he was telling a lie and he made it so difficult for me and my daughters godfather to book those three nights and he only wanted me to pay for the room with my credit card but wanted me to pay the $100 deposit in cash and not only that when I did get booked in and went back up to the same room that I have had for the past two weeks it was not clean all the way but yet he complained that I left it dirty which I didn't time I checked out I wouldn't take all my dirty towels and washcloths and put them in a pile and I will take out my own trash that I had in the room which I didn't have to do that because that's what housekeeping is for but I was trying to make it easier for housekeeping so I guess that's Sunday I did not take out my own trash and he got upset and not to mention I had started my cycle and I had to use one of the washcloths to take a shower and of course the washcloth was dirty because I guess he doesn't understand that blood is red in their washcloths are white so he was upset about that and when I did try to come back to the hotel this past Sunday for a week he told me that I was banned from looking a room with them anymore and I asked him why and he said in the computer it said I had a bad attitude and I was mad and I was being disrespectful when i was not at all he...
Guests frequently praise the staff for their kindness and welcoming demeanor, suggesting that the personnel make a positive impression. However, numerous complaints highlight significant cleanliness issues, with reports of dirty rooms, unpleasant odors, and poorly maintained facilities like bathrooms and the swimming pool. Additionally, some guests experienced negative interactions with management, leading to further dissatisfaction.

Who Should Stay Here?

Budget travelers and pet owners will find value at the Red Roof Inn Nashville - Music City. The hotel's proximity to downtown Nashville makes it easy to explore attractions like the Country Music Hall of Fame without spending much on transportation. Friendly staff members can make check-in less daunting, and the low price point offers affordable lodging for those who prioritize cost over luxury. Additionally, the pet-friendly policy is a bonus for guests who prefer to travel with their furry companions. However, those who value cleanliness and comfort should look elsewhere. Reports of dirty floors, an unpleasant smell of smoke, and alarming bedbug incidents can detract from your stay. Maintenance issues like outdated bathrooms and furniture in disrepair may leave you feeling like you are in a neglected space. If you expect a welcoming environment or attentive management, this hotel might not be the best choice.

The Verdict

Our Take

The Red Roof Inn Nashville - Music City offers a budget-friendly option near downtown, which is its only real draw. While the location is convenient and some staff members are friendly, the pervasive issues with cleanliness and maintenance overshadow any positives. Reports of bedbugs and a general lack of upkeep make this place hard to recommend. Save yourself the hassle and consider other options unless you are traveling with pets and on a tight budget.
