Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, allowing easy access to iconic sights like La Rambla and the stunning Plaça Reial. You can step out and be immersed in the local culture within minutes.
  • The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Whether you need restaurant recommendations or assistance with your bags, they are eager to assist without being intrusive.
  • Rooms are clean and contemporary, with a modern aesthetic that feels fresh and inviting. Cleanliness matters when you're settling in after a long day of sightseeing.
  • The private garden is a lovely escape from the city hustle, offering a place to unwind with a book or enjoy a quiet moment. This little slice of tranquility is a pleasant surprise in such a bustling area.
  • The breakfast is good value, providing a decent selection to start your day without breaking the bank. It sets you up well for a day of exploring, especially in a city known for its cafe culture.
  • The hotel is on a side street that restricts vehicle access, which means you can enjoy a quieter environment despite being in a busy area. This is a rare find in cities where noise is often unavoidable.
  • The mix of modern comforts with the grandeur of the building creates a unique charm. You get to enjoy updated amenities while appreciating the historical elements of the hotel.
What doesn't
  • Maintenance issues are noticeable, with things like broken TVs and small repairs needed throughout the property. This can detract from the overall experience, especially if you're expecting a polished stay.
  • The environment can be noisy at times, particularly from the street or other guests. Light sleepers may find it hard to get a good night's sleep amid the activity.
  • Some rooms are on the smaller side, which can feel cramped, especially if you're traveling with multiple people. If you're bringing a lot of luggage, you might find space at a premium.
  • The pricing appears steep for what you receive, leading to a feeling of being overcharged for the experience. When traveling, value for money is crucial, and this can leave a sour taste.

10Exceptional
A very large property that managed to feel intimate, and could not be in a better location in the heart of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona. Air-conditioning was cold, water pressure was good, and the garden area was so lush and beautiful. Staff was nice, breakfast was good, and the clientele was most mostly American. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great family rooms

Great AC, clean room, loved the set up for families. Nothing fancy but just what we needed for sleeping and showering.
Guests consistently praise the Petit Palace Boquería Garden for its prime location in the Gothic Quarter, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast options. However, a few reviews mention a lack of luxury and some room configurations not being as fancy as expected.

Who Should Stay Here?

This hotel is a great choice for travelers who prioritize location and personal service. Those wanting to dive into the vibrant culture of the Gothic Quarter will appreciate the easy access to local attractions like La Rambla and Plaça Reial. The friendly staff adds a personal touch, making it a solid option for first-time visitors. If you enjoy returning to a clean and modern room after a day of exploring, this hotel will meet your needs. The private garden offers a rare opportunity for relaxation amid the hustle of the city. However, if you're sensitive to noise or expect flawless maintenance, you might want to search for another option. The occasional maintenance issues and street noise could dampen your experience. Families or groups traveling with lots of luggage may also feel cramped in the smaller rooms. If you're looking for a polished, quiet retreat, you might find this hotel falls short of those expectations.
