Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is fantastic, with easy access to the tube and several nearby attractions. This means you can explore London without wasting time on lengthy commutes.
  • The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, making your experience much more enjoyable. A warm greeting can set the tone for your entire stay.
  • Breakfast offers a solid variety and is consistently well replenished. Starting your day with a decent meal saves you time and energy for sightseeing.
  • The hotel is modern and well-maintained, which gives a sense of comfort and cleanliness. You want to feel good in your surroundings, especially after a long day out.
  • The pool and fitness facilities provide a convenient way to unwind after a busy day of exploring. A quick swim or workout can really recharge your energy.
What doesn't
  • Some rooms are noisy, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. Hearing street noise or banging from upstairs can be disruptive if you're looking for peace after a long day.
  • The rooms are on the small side, which can feel cramped, especially in the bathroom. If you're traveling with more than one person or have a lot of luggage, this might be an issue.
  • Management seems unhelpful when it comes to addressing guest concerns. If you encounter an issue, you may not get the support you need to resolve it quickly.
  • The carpet in some rooms is worn and needs replacing. A fresh, clean space can significantly improve your overall comfort and perceptions of the hotel.

I would definitely book again for location and facilities, but maybe ask if there could be a reduction for the parking c

Really comfortable rooms and beds, especially for my elderly father who had an accessible room for his disability. Staff were really wonderful and breakfast exceptional.
The staff very kindly found me a room next to my father so I could help him when needed, but we were in the 3rd floor and it was a really long walk between areas to the breakfast room in the morning. In addition it was great to have overnight parking for his Blue Badge car, but the £45 fee was very high considering the costs of the room on top

Sharp practice

Cleaning staff were pleasant and friendly. Good location.
At arrival we were told twin rooms were nit available even though I had asked for them. Nothing at all available in the whole hotel. Nothing at all. Then we were told that they were available if we paid £60 each extra. This is SHARP PRACTICE!
Guests frequently commend the welcoming staff and convenient location of Holiday Inn London - Kensington High St. Many reviews highlight the helpfulness of the breakfast team and the comfort of the rooms. However, complaints often center around issues with room availability and high parking fees, which detract from an otherwise pleasant experience.

Who Should Stay Here?

This hotel appeals to travelers who prioritize location and a friendly atmosphere. If you want quick access to the tube and major attractions like the Royal Albert Hall or Kensington Gardens, this hotel is a solid choice. The breakfast spread is a bonus for those looking to fuel up before a day of exploring. Business travelers will appreciate the modern amenities and clean spaces, making it a practical stop for short stays. However, if you value tranquility or spacious accommodations, look elsewhere. The noise from the street and neighboring rooms can disrupt your sleep, which is a dealbreaker for light sleepers. Couples or families traveling with multiple bags may find the small room sizes limiting. If you need quick and effective management support for any issues, this hotel might not meet your expectations.

The Verdict

Our Take

The Holiday Inn London - Kensington High St. offers a great location and friendly service, making it an appealing choice for travelers. While the modern atmosphere and good breakfast add to the experience, small rooms and noise issues can detract from comfort. If you value convenience and a welcoming staff over spacious accommodations, this hotel might suit you well. Just be prepared to bring earplugs for a better night’s sleep.
