Pros & Cons

What works
  • The location is a major highlight. Being so close to Roma Termini means you can easily hop on a train or metro to explore the city and get to the airport without stress.
  • The rooms are spacious compared to many other hotels in Rome. You’ll appreciate the extra space, especially for storing luggage or relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
  • Breakfast options are quite good. With a variety of items including hot omelets and pastries, you can fuel up for a day of adventure without needing to search for a café.
  • Nearby restaurants provide plenty of dining choices. You won't have to wander far to find something delicious, whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner.
  • The hotel is clean and well-maintained. This ensures that you return to a comfortable and hygienic space after a long day of exploring the city.
  • The staff can be friendly and helpful. When you do connect with them, they are often eager to assist with recommendations or directions.
What doesn't
  • Service inconsistencies can be frustrating. At times, it may take a while for requests to be addressed, which can be annoying when you need assistance.
  • Unexpected fees can catch you off guard. The additional charges for tips or taxi calls can leave a sour taste, especially if you’re budgeting for your trip.
  • Noise from nearby streets can disrupt sleep. If you're sensitive to sound, be prepared for potential disturbances from the bustling city life outside.
  • The family room situation might not meet expectations. If you’re traveling with kids, knowing that you’ll have two adjoining rooms could be inconvenient if you anticipated a single, larger space.

Travel to Rome and stay here

Hotel Universo offers good accommodation conditions, but its main strength is its excellent location, very close to Termini Station and the ease with which you can reach Rome’s main tourist attractions, even on foot. Highly recommended.

Clean and comfortable close to Termini

Location is an easy walk to termini if you are taking the train. Room was a decent size and comfortable. Good bed and shower. Good breakfast selection and complimentary tea and water.
I was unwell during my stay so wanted to order room service but it was difficult to get hold of room service, they rarely answered the phone.
Guests frequently praise Best Western Plus Hotel Universo for its prime location near Termini Station, which simplifies access to Rome's main attractions. However, many reviews mention noise from the streets, particularly at night, as a significant drawback, along with occasional difficulties in reaching room service.

Who Should Stay Here?

Budget-conscious travelers and those who prioritize location will find significant value at the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo. Being steps away from Roma Termini makes it easy to explore the city and reach the airport without hassle. The spacious rooms provide a welcome reprieve from the usual cramped accommodations in Rome, and the breakfast spread will fuel your adventures without the need to venture out for your first meal of the day. With nearby dining options, you’ll have plenty of choices for lunch or dinner after your excursions. On the other hand, travelers who expect attentive service or a tranquil environment should consider other options. Service at this hotel can be hit or miss, with slow responses to requests that may hamper your experience. Noise from the streets could disrupt your sleep, particularly if you are a light sleeper. Families wanting a single larger room might be disappointed with the two adjoining rooms configuration, which could feel less convenient than anticipated.
