When Customer service solves the problem!

I rated my experience a five star for the specific reason that although things did not go very well the first night, they were made right by the excellent customer service and accommodations of the Hugo Hotel. I had been assured that I would have access to distilled water for my breathing machine and it was not there the first night, but the staff went out and searched several drugstores the next day until they found it. I appreciated their diligence. One thing that I have not been able to correct because I can’t seem to find my original email was that my quoted cost was $166.25 per night but when I arrived at the hotel it was $188 per night. The difference of $22 per night for four nights is under $100 and although I do think they should have arranged it, I understand they were not able to do so. It was not enough to make me take off a star! I have stayed here before and I will stay here again! There is a fabulous restaurant just down the street called the Houseman, which I highly recommend.

Great time!

I went on a date to the rooftop bar. I had a fantastic experience. Drinks were great, view was gorgeous, and our server Mark was so welcoming. He led us through our experience perfectly - great recommendations and was so personable.

Well priced convenience

Location was very convenient for where I needed to be. It was clean, comfortable bed and good shower and the price was fair.
For a one stay there was nothing to complain about - would be good if restaurant opened an hour earlier

Guests consistently praise the customer service at Hotel Hugo, noting the staff's attentiveness and willingness to resolve issues. The rooftop bar and its views receive positive mentions as well, enhancing the overall experience. However, complaints often center around pricing discrepancies and room size, with some guests feeling that the value does not match the cost.

Who Should Stay Here?

Hotel Hugo attracts travelers who appreciate spacious accommodations in a central New York location. Those looking to explore the city without lengthy commutes will find its proximity to attractions and dining a major plus. Additionally, guests who value helpful staff will enjoy the attentive service, which enhances the overall experience. If cleanliness is a priority, you'll find the hotel generally maintains a commendable standard. On the other hand, guests seeking flawless hygiene and top-notch service may want to consider alternatives. Reports of cleanliness issues and staff responsiveness can be dealbreakers for those who expect a high standard for the price. If you prioritize contactless payment options or modern furnishings, you might be disappointed with the hotel’s offerings. Overall, Hotel Hugo is best for those who value space and location over perfection.
