Cheap, great location. Poor quality.

Great location
Staff member was a little rude. Took a few attempts to get him to help me. The room was too hot with no way of controlling the temperature

1Poor

..

Nothing
This is without a doubt one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, and if I could give it zero stars, I would do so without hesitation. The room was in a terrible condition: Dirty, neglected, with an unpleasant smell in the air, and with no bathroom and no toilet in the room at all. Yes, in a hotel, there was neither a private shower nor a private toilet. This is simply unbelievable and completely unacceptable on any level. Even the bed sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed in a long time. The overall feeling was one of complete neglect and a total lack of even the most basic standards that should be obvious in any place calling itself a “hotel.” The facilities (if they can even be called that) are poorly maintained, some don’t work, and others are simply not fit for use. Bottom line: Lack of cleanliness, complete absence of basic necessities such as a private toilet and shower, and a frustrating experience from the moment of arrival until departure. I will never return here and would not recommend this place to anyone, not even if it were free. Save yourself the frustration, there are plenty of better places almost anywhere, at nearly any price.
Guests frequently praise Hotel Demetra Capitolina for its great location and friendly staff, highlighting the positive interactions they have experienced. However, complaints about cleanliness, inadequate room facilities, and overall maintenance dominate the reviews, with several guests expressing frustration over poor conditions and a lack of basic amenities.

Who Should Stay Here?

Budget travelers and those seeking a home base in the heart of Rome will find value at Hotel Demetra Capitolina. The friendly staff can help ease the stresses of navigating the city, while the central location allows easy access to major attractions. This hotel is perfect for those who want to save money and spend more on exploring local cuisine and experiences in the vibrant neighborhood. However, anyone who prioritizes cleanliness and comfort should consider other options. The reported issues with room maintenance, temperature control, and shared bathrooms can significantly detract from the experience. If you value a restful night and modern amenities, you might want to look elsewhere.
